Ayurveda

Ayurveda is a traditional form of medicine and healing that is over 5,000 years old. This ancient wisdom has stood the test of time and is perhaps more relevant today than it ever has been.

Simply put, Ayurveda is about living in alignment with nature by understanding that we are part of nature and made up of the same elements. The more we align ourselves to nature’s rhythms the better we feel. Vitality grows when we align with nature.

What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is a holistic science that addresses the root of illness and disease rather than just treating the symptoms. It is a time-honoured wisdom that has been practiced for millennia and is rooted in the Vedas.

Ayurveda shows us how to truly transform, as it empowers individuals to take control of their health and wellbeing. Wellbeing is that situation in which one feels “well in one’s being” a state that resists our becoming agitated or unbalanced even when circumstances may trouble or torment us.

How can Ayurveda help me?

Ayurveda aims to train people to avoid disease, rather than waiting for illness to develop before they can be treated. The Ayurvedic paradigm shows us how body, mind and spirit interactions can be predicted, balanced and also improved, to enable us to live gracefully, harmoniously and vigorously.

Each of us possesses powers for health maintenance and self-healing that we can activate if we learn how to let them flow.

Ayurveda and women

The literal meaning of ‘svastha’, the Sanskrit word for ‘healthy’ means to be “established in yourself”. Only a woman who is established in herself will be able to radiate that joy and enthusiasm and ‘juiciness’ of life we recognise when we see health.

Ayurveda applies ancient healing to help modern women by offering practical and holistic tools to manage stress, hormones, digestion, energy, and overall wellbeing. Its strengths lie in preventative care, balance and personalisation, making it adaptable to a busy lifestyle and every woman.

The 5 pillars of health

In Ayurveda there are 5 pillars of health:
